Hyderabad: Former BRS MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of indulging in diversionary politics instead of addressing public issues. He said the Congress government had failed farmers by neglecting paddy procurement.
Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday, Lingaiah said the Chief Minister was encouraging Congress MLAs to target BRS leaders, including K Chandrashekhar Rao and KT Rama Rao, rather than focus on governance. He stated that Revanth Reddy was pushing both farmers and investors into uncertainty through what he described as illogical decisions and inefficient governance.
“The BRS government had completed Hyderabad Metro Phase-I while preserving historical structures. But the present Congress government cancelled Metro Phase-II tenders after assuming office and is now attempting to shift a Rs 13,500-crore liability onto the people of Telangana on the pretext of a takeover,” he said.
The former MLA criticised Congress leaders from the erstwhile Nalgonda district, alleging that they had failed to deliver meaningful development for the people. He also targeted Nakrekal Congress MLA Vemula Veeresham, accusing him of making statements against the BRS leadership to impress the Chief Minister. He accused the MLA of indulging in irregularities through benami businesses and land encroachments.
