Hyderabad: In a scathing attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for his frequent Delhi visits at the expense of state governance, Leader of the Opposition in the Telangana Legislative Council, S Madhusudana Chari, on Friday accused him of misleading the public with white papers filled with falsehoods.
Addressing a news conference at Telangana Bhavan alongside BRS leaders, including MLA Mutha Gopal, MLCs Takkella Pallavi, Ravinder Rao, Navin Kumar Reddy, and former Zilla Parishad Chairperson Tula Uma, Madhusudana Chari labelled Revanth Reddy the “Emperor of White Papers.” He alleged that the Chief Minister has used these documents to deceive the people of Telangana since assuming office.
Madhusudana Chari demanded that the Chief Minister release a white paper detailing the purpose and outcomes of his numerous Delhi trips, claiming they have yielded no tangible benefits for the state.
“The CM has spent nearly 200 days in Delhi and on foreign trips to places like Davos, Korea, Japan, and London. What has Telangana gained from these visits?” he questioned. The opposition leader accused Reddy of prioritising pleasing Delhi’s political bosses over governing Telangana. He further alleged that the CM’s frequent absences have pushed the state into regression.
Madhusudana Chari questioned whether Reddy governs from his residence or a “command control” setup instead of the state secretariat. He alleged that the CM’s administration operates with a hidden agenda and is mired in irregularities. Contrasting Reddy’s tenure with that of former CM K Chandrashekar Rao, Madhusudana Chari claimed irrigation issues were nonexistent during the BRS regime.
He attributed the deterioration of conditions in educational institutions to the scant attention paid to the education sector under Revanth Reddy, who continues to hold the Education portfolio.
