Hyderabad: BRS Assembly whip KP Vivekananda criticised the Congress government for constituting the Special Investigation Team (SIT) with a pre-determined agenda to target the opposition leaders, instead of focusing on governance. He slammed the Congress government for indulging in vindictive politics.
He also found fault with the SIT for violating procedures while serving notices to BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. He stated that the notices were illegal and politically driven.
Speaking at Telangana Bhavan here on Sunday, Vivekananda ridiculed the SIT for delivering the notices at Nandi Nagar, but not at Chandrashekhar Rao’s residence in Erravelli. If notices were to be served only as per official records, he questioned why SIT served notices to BRSLP deputy leader T Harish Rao at his Hyderabad address, but not his residence in Siddipet mentioned in the official records.
He accused the police of acting under political pressure and said the phone-tapping case lacked credible evidence. He lambasted Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for resorting to diversionary politics for last two years, to hide his failures and avoid public scrutiny ahead of local body elections.
