Karimnagar: CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy found fault with the Union government for neglecting farmers and taking steps only to benefit the corporates. Speaking at a protest demonstration organised by the CPI district unit at Kaman chowk on Saturday in support of agitating farmers in Delhi demanding the abolition of Farm laws, Venkat Reddy said Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was creating troubles to the public by bringing anti-farmers and labourers laws.
The PM was remaining a spectator while farmers from Punjab, Haryana, Rajastan and Gujarat were waging agitation against the Farm laws in Delhi. PM Modi was destroying a number of government institutions to benefit corporates, multinational companies and investors. The Union government was deliberately delaying farmers’ issues in the name of talks, he said.
Extending support to the Bharath bandh call given by the farmers on December 8, CPI leader called upon the activists of CPI’s agriculture wing and its allied units to make the band a grand success at mandal, district and State level by participating in a big way. Earlier, police foiled CPI leaders’ attempt to burn the effigy of the Prime Minister. CPI district secretary Ponaganti Kedari, assistant secretary Koyyada Srujan Kumar and others participated in the protest.
