Nirmal: Forest Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy said the union government repealed the three farm laws fearing its defeat in the forthcoming polls in five States.
Participating in Rythu Bandhu celebrations in Dilawarpur and Soan Mandal centres on Sunday, Indrakaran said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was cheating farmers with false promises. He opined that the union government, which was supposed to strengthen the agriculture sector, was ruining it. He faulted it for provoking paddy farmers while declaring that it would not procure paddy produced in Yasangi season.
The Minister requested the public not to trust the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which was lying about the procurement of paddy. He said that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao advised farmers not to grow paddy seeking their good. He suggested the farmers go for alternative crops and make agriculture profitable.
Indrakaran slammed the BJP leaders for criticising the State government. He lambasted Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivaraj Singh Chouhan and leaders of the saffron party over their remarks against Chandrashekhar Rao. Shivaraj Singh, who had become a Chief Minister by buying MLAs, does not have the right to criticise Rao, he added.
As part of the week-long celebrations marking the release of Rs 50,000 crore under the Rythu Bandhu scheme, Indrakaran performed ksheerabhishekam to the portrait of the Chief Minister and later rode a tractor. He also inspected rangoli patterns drawn by women of both Dilwarpur and Soan mandal headquarters.
