Kothagudem: District Employment Officer K Sri Ram urged youths in the district to make proper use of the free training provided at Nava Vocational Training Institute to secure gainful employment or become self-employed.
He distributed certificates to about 70 youths who completed training courses in welding, fitter and electrical trades, along with solar technology, at the institute in Paloncha in the district on Wednesday.
He said that the vocational training institute, established as part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of Nava Limited, with state-of-the-art machinery, serves as a great boon for unemployed youth in the region.
A youth, N Saibabu, who completed the welding course, said that the training had been immensely beneficial to him. Soon after completion of his training, he secured a job at Vem Technologies with a monthly salary of Rs 18,000.
Nava Limited Manager (SCR) Ch Srinivasa Rao stated that to date, over 2,000 youths have successfully completed training in various courses at the institute. The trainees have secured employment in prominent public sector undertakings such as SCCL, KTPS and BHEL, as well as in private sector companies including Kirby Buildings, MTAR and Heritage.
