Hyderabad: Chairman and Chief of Gastroenterology, AIG Hospitals, Dr. D Nageshwar Reddy, has been selected for Lifetime achievement award from the World Endoscopy Organization (WEO), the apex body for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, a press release said.

The recognition is third international award for Dr. Reddy this year and follows the Rudolf Schindler Award from the American Society of GI Endoscopy and the AAAS Fellowship from the American Association for Advancement of Science.

Commenting on the achievement Dr. Reddy said “It’s an honour to receive the award from an organization which I had the privilege to lead. The recognition is yet another acknowledgment for Indian doctors and how we contribute to the global healthcare ecosystem.”

In the congratulatory letter, Prof. Jean Francois Rey, WEO past president and Chair of WEO Awards Committee, said “The award committee was furthermore convinced that your international recognition and stature in the field of digestive endoscopy paired with the numerous publications and innovations made you most worthy for this prize.”
The award ceremony will be held next May World ENDO Congress, Kyoto, Japan.
