Charminar police book man for using fake vehicle number plate

Charminar police booked a Yakutpura resident for riding a scooter with a fake registration number plate to evade traffic penalties. The bogus plate led to fines being wrongly imposed on another vehicle owner.

Hyderabad: A man was booked by Charminar Police for allegedly using a fake vehicle registration number plate to avoid traffic penalties and misleading enforcement authorities.

Mirza Hashim Raza of Yakutpura, was found riding a Honda Activa with a registration number, THAT actually belongs to a Honda Shine owned by another person.

Police said the scooter had not been registered with the Regional Transport Office, and the fake number plate was used to escape traffic challans.

Investigators found that multiple traffic violations committed by the accused resulted in fines being wrongly issued to the legitimate vehicle owner, Pradeep Suresh Kulkarni of Dilsukhnagar.

During the probe, the scooter’s actual registration number was traced.

Based on the findings, Charminar Police registered a case and are investigating.
