Christmas celebrated with grandeur at Medak Cathedral
Christmas celebrations at the historic Medak Cathedral began with a dawn procession of the cross led by Bishop K Reuben Mark, followed by special prayers and cake distribution. Thousands of devotees from Telangana and neighbouring states participated, filling Medak town with festive activity.

Medak: The Christmas celebrations kicked-off at the historical Medak Cathedral Church with the procession of cross led by moderator and Bishop Reverend K Reuben Mark at 4.20 am on Thursday.
Aradhana preceded the cross procession which was witnessed by thousands of devotees who arrived from across Telangana and neighbouring Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and other parts of the nation.
The Second Aaradhana was performed by Church Presbyter in charge R Santhaiah at 10 am. They also cut a cake to mark Christ’s birthday which was distributed among the devotees.
Addressing the devotees on this auspicious Christmas day, Reuben Mark called upon the devotees to stay united irrespective of their status. He asked them to follow the peace path.
The Medak town remained hectic throughout the day as a huge number of devotees arrived. Local traders have made merry due to the heavy influx of devotees. The hotels and lodges remained fully occupied. The festivities will continue for the next one week until January 1.
BRS leaders M Padma Devendar Reddy, Sheri Subhash Reddy and others offered special prayers at the church. Medak SP DV Srinivas Rao oversaw the security arrangements guiding the police force. The district administration also made all arrangements to ensure the smooth flow for devotees.
Meanwhile, Christmas was celebrated in a grand way across the erstwhile Medak district as all the Churches organised special prayers to mark the day.
Former Minister T Harish Rao participated in the celebrations in Siddipet while respective MLAs, MPs, and other leaders and officials also participated in the celebrations in various places.
