Hyderabad: Starting this year, a cluster system that facilitates mobility of students and faculty from one institution to another would be implemented by the Telangana Higher Education department in nine autonomous degree colleges in the city, Commissioner of Technical and Collegiate Education Navin Mittal said here on Wednesday.
Addressing the inaugural event of Telangana Future Education Summit 2021 jointly organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, Mittal said, a Bachelor of Arts in History, Economics and Political Science student of one institution, for instance, can pursue a Psychology or Mass Communication course being offered by another institution or vice-versa as part of the system.
Credits allotted to a particular course would be transferred on completion. Similarly, the teaching faculty can also be exchanged between the colleges in the cluster system, he said, adding that the new system will be implemented for second year degree students in the identified colleges.
According to Mittal, the system would also facilitate pooling or sharing of resources such as libraries, infrastructure, best practices and other human resources.
