CM KCR brought about second ‘green revolution’ in Telangana: KTR

Rajanna-Sircilla: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao on Wednesday said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had taken initiatives to usher in a second green revolution in the Telangana State, which resulted in dry land areas transforming into green fields.
The Minister was speaking after hoisting the tricolour at the District Collectorate in Sircilla on the occasion of Telangana State Formation Day. Later, Rama Rao inspected the ongoing works of the modern market yard being constructed in Sardapur.

Rama Rao, describing the TRS government as farmer-friendly, said parched lands had turned into green fields with the construction of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme. “Godavari water lifted at Medigadda has been taken to Upper Manair reservoir through Kudellivagu. Upper Manair has since been overflowing even in mid summer,” he said.
Following these developments, dry land areas like Sircilla district have been witnessing bumper agriculture produce. With the availability of sufficient water, about 35 to 36 bags of paddy was being produced in an acre of land, the Minister said, adding that the highest yield of 3.23 lakh metric tons of paddy was witnessed against 2.50 lakh metric tons expected this season in the district. “So, farmers are showering blessings on the Chief Minister,” he added.
Stating that the a modern market yard was being constructed at Sardapur at a cost of Rs 22 crore to provide additional facilities to farmers, Rama Rao said Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy will inaugurate the market yard on June 11. He instructed the District Collector and other officials to make arrangements strictly following Covid norms.
Since the distribution of Rythu Bandhu will start from June 15, the District Collector and RDO were asked to settle land disputes. With 13 days left for disbursement, all the disputes should be settled by June 10 through a special drive, he said, adding that in case of dispute over forest lands, district officials should solve the problems by coordinating with forest officials.
Stating that Chandrshekhar Rao was the real Rythu Bhandhuvu (real relative of farmers), Rama Rao said the Chief Minister introduced the Rythu Bandhu scheme to protect the interests of farmers. The Minister thanked the Chief Minister and the then Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy for introducing the Rythu Bandhu scheme.
