Telangana writer Kompelli Venkat Goud passes away, KCR condoles
Writer Kompelli Venkat Goud, known for chronicling Telangana’s cultural and political struggles, passed away in Hyderabad on Thursday. His works, including Voduvani Muchata and Sarvai Papanna Charitra, played a vital role in shaping Telangana ideology and preserving its heritage.

Hyderabad: Noted writer Kompelli Venkat Goud has passed away, while undergoing treatment for prolonged illness at a hospital here on Thursday. He played a pivotal role in shaping Telangana statehood ideology and preserving its cultural heritage, with his writings chronicling socio-historical events of importance.
Tributes poured in from across Telangana’s political and literary circles following the untimely demise of Venkat Goud. His literature includes “Voduvani Muchata,” “Neella Muchata,” and “Sarvai Papanna Charitra” among others.
BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao expressed deep sorrow, recalling venkat Goud as a writer of the statehood movement who spread Telangana ideology and political philosophy through his writings in association with Telangana ideologue Prof K Jayashankar. He said venkat Goud’s chronicling of Sardar Sarvai Papanna’s legacy and his efforts to foster political consciousness among BC communities marked him as a true torchbearer of Telangana’s self-respect.
“His passing is a great loss to the Telangana especially its literary world,” he said, extending condolences to the writer’s family.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao expressed shock over the demise of Venkat Goud, terming it an irreparable loss. He recalled the writer’s contributions in immortalising the ideas of Jayashankar and irrigation expert R Vidyasagar Rao through his books “Voduvani Muchata” and “Neella Muchata” respectively, as well as his writings on figures like Sarvai Papanna and writer Nomula Satyanarayana.
“His pen carried the spirit of the Telangana movement and the philosophy of uplifting the poor and weaker sections. His role in taking Telangana ideology to the people is unparalleled,” he remarked, praying for the departed soul.
Former Minister and senior MLA T Harish Rao also paid homage to Venkat Goud and recalled his literary works that celebrated the self-respect of the Goud community and recorded Telangana’s cultural and political struggles. “His death is a great loss to Telangana’s literary world,” he added.
Former Ministers S Niranjan Reddy, Vemula Prashanth Reddy and several other BRS leaders also condoled the demise of Venkat Goud and prayed for the departed soul. They extended condolences to the bereaved family.
