Bhongir: Minister for Tribal Welfare Satyavathi Rathod on Sunday said that Sri Yadadri Lakshminarsimha Swamy temple was developed by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at a level no one would have even dreamt of.
The Minister participated in special pooja at Balalayam and offered all the gold jewellery worn by her for gold plating of the Vimana Gopuram of the temple. The gesture of donating all the gold worn by a person is called “Niluvu Dhopidi” in Hindu rituals.
Speaking on the occasion, Satyavathi Rathod said BJP leaders who claim themselves to be representatives of Hindus, are collecting donations from people for construction of Ramalayam in Ayodhya. But, the State government has so far spent Rs 1,500 crores on the development of Yadadri which indicates Chandrashekhar Rao’s commitment to development of temples, she said.
The Chief Minister took the development Yadadri as a prestigious task and himself turned into an architect to suggest designs for the sculptures, the Minister said. In addition to her “Niluvu Dhopidi,” her family members will also soon donate for the gold plating of Vimana Gopuram, she added.
“I am happy that I got an opportunity to offer my gold jewellery for gold plating of Vimana Gopuram of the temple,” she said.
Satyavathi Rathod said that she prayed to Sri Lakshminarsimha Swamy to give more energy to the Chief Minister who was striving hard to bring smiles on the faces of every citizen of the state. She also prayed to the God to protect the people of the State from Omicron and that they lead a happy life.
Pointing out that the number of devotees visiting Yadadri had increased significantly, she said that darshans would be restored at the main temple within two months. Yadadri temple would be a marvelous pilgrim place soon, she said.
Damodar Rao donates Rs 50 lakhs.
Chairman and Managing Director of Telangana Publications Private Limited D Damodar Rao also participated in the pooja at Balalayam and handed over a donation cheque for Rs 50 lakhs to Executive Officer of the temple N Geetha for gold plating of the Vimana Gopuram.
Representatives of Hetero Drugs also donated Rs 1.5 crore to the Executive Officer for the purpose.
