Karimnagar: District Collector RV Karnan asked media persons not to publish or telecast news relating to the Huzurabad by-polls without getting clarification from the election authorities concerned.

The Collector inaugurated a media center for Huzurabad by-election at the Collectorate office here on Saturday. He advised reporters to get clarification from authorities before publish or telecast news.

He would also be available round-the-clock to talk on poll-related issues. If reporters have any doubts regarding the election-related information, they could contact him or the district public relations officer.

Thanking print and electronic media for cooperating with election authorities, the Collector wanted similar cooperation in the coming days too.

The Media Certification Committee would also start its activities, he informed and advised print and electronic media to publish or telecast advertisements by getting approval from the MCC committee.

Additional Collectors GV Shyamprasad Lal, Garima Agarwal and others were also present.
