Mancherial: Government Whip Balka Suman said that connectivity in rural areas was being improved like never before. He laid the foundation stone for a bridge across a stream at Gangaram village and another bridge at Narayanapur village in Chennur mandal on Thursday.
The estimated cost of the bridge at Gangaram is Rs 1.97 crore, while the facility would be created at Narayanapur spending Rs 4.80 crore. Speaking on the occasion, Suman said that a special focus was laid on bettering the road network infrastructure of the countryside in Chennur Assembly constituency. He stated that efforts were being made to get sufficient funds to create roads and bridges in rural parts that were deprived of connectivity for quite a long time.
The government later inaugurated a library in Kotapalli mandal centre. He said that the libraries were undergoing an unprecedented transformation in the past few years. He stated that they had become not only a source of knowledge but employment by providing coaching to aspirants of government jobs. He added that Dr Ambedkar Study Centre, created on the premises of Mancherial district library had become a boon for the jobless.
Suman then participated in Singareni Day celebrations held at Mandamarri town. He stated that the government was re-implementing a dependent job scheme and the coal major was extending a slew of initiatives for the welfare of the coal miners. He said that the SCCL was making profits in the past few years and was producing quality coal in the country.
He, earlier, distributed blankets to students belonging to a Telangana Social Welfare Residential School and handed over cheques to 23 beneficiaries of Chief Minister Relief Fund at his camp office in Chennur town.
Zilla Parishad Chairperson Nallala Bhagya Laxmi, District Libraries Corporation chairman Renikuntla Praveen, former Chennur MLA N Odelu, ex MLC P Satheesh Kumar, local public representatives and authorities of the roads and building department were present.
