Karimnagar: District Collector RV Karnan on Saturday instructed the counting officials to take up the counting of votes in the Karimnagar Local Authorities MLC Constituency in an efficient manner.
Participating in a training programme for LAC election counting officials and staff here, Karnan instructed the officials to take up counting in a transparent manner without giving any scope for mistakes and irregularities.
Counting staff should report at the counting center at 6 am since they have to start the counting process at 8 am at the tables allocated to them, he said and added that staff should be distributed to different tables through randomisation.
He instructed the staff to bring ballot boxes from the strong room at 7.30 am and open them at counting tables in the presence of agents and tie bundles along with 25 ballot papers. Later, counting would be started at the main counting table.
Instructing officers not to carry mobile phones inside the counting center, the Collector wanted the staff to follow Covid norms and wear face masks and sanitize hands.
Karnan directed District Medical and Health Officer Dr Juveria to set up a health camp at the counting center.
Additional Collectors GV Shyam Prasad Lal and Garima Agarwal, ZP CEO Priyanka, counting officers and micro observers were present.
