Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao lashed out at the Congress government for failing the people of Telangana on all fronts. He stated that there was widespread dissatisfaction among employees, students, farmers, labourers and women, who were forced to stage protests against the government’s inaction.
“The Congress government lied to everyone. Five DAs (Dearness Allowance) are still pending to employees – has there ever been such injustice? The Chief Minister doesn’t even make time to address the concerns of employees unions. Why hasn’t the new PRC (Pay Revision Commission) been implemented after 11 months of the Congress rule? What about the promise to restore the old pension scheme?” he questioned.
Rama Rao stated that the Congress ignored the working class, crucial to Telangana’s development, and criticised the arbitrary suspension of hundreds of AEOs without addressing their workload. He also pointed out that outsourcing and contract staff have been unpaid for months, leaving them in distress.
In another post on X, Rama Rao said due to initiatives under former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s rule, Telangana had now become the leading State in rice production. He credited Chandrashekhar Rao’s vision, citing projects like the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation, Rythu Bandhu, and the provision of 24-hour electricity for farmers.
In 2023-24, Telangana topped the rice production charts with 1.68 crore tonnes. “The former Chief Minister made the farmer a king,” he stated, adding that Telangana’s agricultural success was a matter of pride, turning the State into a rice granary for the entire country.
