Hyderabad: Former Minister and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao launched a broadside against the Congress government for misleading the public and targeting BRS leaders with fabricated cases. He questioned the selective narrative being pushed by the Congress, targeting BRS chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao ahead of the local body elections.

In a video conference with Telangana NRIs, organised by BRS NRI global coordinator Mahesh Bigala, Harish Rao made a detailed presentation and addressed the alleged misinformation surrounding the Kaleshwaram project. He refuted the Congress government’s claims that only 162 TMC was lifted at the Medigadda barrage, stating that they ignored the volumes lifted from Annaram, Sundilla, Nandi, and Gayatri pump houses.

“Between 2019-20 and 2022-23, the State government lifted 162.41 TMC from Medigadda, 172.86 TMC from Annaram, 172.12 TMC from Sundilla, 181.7 TMC from Nandi pump house and 179.41 TMC from Gayatri pump house,” he said, urging Congress leaders to stop the misinformation campaign.

He dismissed allegations that the project lacked a Detailed Project Report (DPR), pointing out that the Centre would not have approved it without one. He maintained that every stage of the project followed due process and obtained the necessary permissions.
