Hyderabad: Courting controversy over Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) not accepting recommendation letters issued by Telangana MLAs, Congress MLA from Jadcherla J Anirudh Reddy said if all the Telangana MLAs pass a resolution in the December session not to allow Andhra Pradesh leaders into the State, then they would realize the pain.
He recalled that during the “Dial Your EO” programme in August, the TTD EO had also said that recommendation letters of Telangana public representatives would not be accepted. Appealing to the TTD management to accept the recommendation letters issued by Telangana MLAs, the Jadcherla MLA said it would facilitate people to have Lord Venkateswara’s darshan.
“If our request is not considered, in the next Assembly session in December all the Telangana MLAs will take a decision. Eventually, Andhra Pradesh leaders and people will have to suffer,” Anirudh Reddy said after offering prayers at Tirumala on Monday. He was accompanied by Congress MLC Balmoori Venkat.
He also reminded Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s two eyes policy. During State bifurcation, the TDP Chief had said that Telangana was one eye and Andhra Pradesh the other. Did he now remove one of his eyes, he asked.
“When Andhra Pradesh MLAs visit or call Yadagirigutta or Bhadrachalam officers, darshan and other facilities are being arranged for them. Why this discrimination towards Telangana elected public representatives?” he asked.
When the YSRCP government was formed in Andhra Pradesh, TDP leaders conduct their business in Telangana. Similarly, when TDP succeeds there, YSRCP leaders come to Hyderabad. Despite Andhra Pradesh people conducting their business here, Telangana people never uttered a word, he claimed, stressing AP leaders should consider Telangana people as their brothers and not visit the State only for the sake of their businesses.
