Congress MLA Rajender admits not spending funds on MGH Hospital

Warangal (West) MLA Naini Rajender Reddy alleged that MGM Hospital was being neglected amid a lack of funds and doctors’ absence. He called for an IAS officer to oversee the upcoming Super Specialty Hospital and prevent similar lapses

Hanamkonda: Warangal (West) Congress MLA Naini Rajender Reddy acknowledged that funds were not being spent on Warangal’s MGM Hospital.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, he said the hospital had fallen into a dilapidated state because funds were being withheld in anticipation of the opening of the Warangal Super Specialty Hospital, where MGM Hospital’s operations would be shifted.

He further alleged that MGM Hospital was suffering from neglect due to the selfishness of certain doctors and that doctors were often unavailable at the facility despite several requests and warnings. Past inspections had revealed that doctors were frequently absent from MGM Hospital, preferring to spend their time at private clinics instead.

Rajender Reddy noted that there had been negligence in providing necessary amenities and facilities at the hospital and in allocating funds for its renovation. Work was underway to procure the equipment and facilities required for the Super Specialty Hospital, which would be inaugurated by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy next month.

He urged the appointment of an IAS officer as a special officer for the upcoming Super Specialty Hospital to ensure that the lapses witnessed at MGM Hospital were not repeated at the new health facility.
