Hyderabad: High tension prevailed at a private farmhouse in Janwada on Saturday, with a heavy police force deployed at the venue as Congress MPs and MLCs were scheduled to visit the property and check its land details.
DCP Yogesh Goutham had already arrived at the farmhouse on Saturday morning. The farmhouse owner, Pradeep Reddy, had issued a video statement on Friday claiming ownership of the property. He also stated that the farmhouse had been leased out to BRS working president KT Rama Rao.
Signboards have also been put up near the farmhouse stating that it was private property and warning that trespassers would be prosecuted. However, the proposed visit by Congress elected representatives triggered tension in the area and generated political heat.
The Congress MPs and MLCs have alleged that the farmhouse belongs to Rama Rao. Accordingly, they were visiting the property in a special bus from Praja Bhavan.
On Friday, the elected representatives had visited former Minister T Harish Rao’s farmhouse in Siddipet. They checked the land details with revenue officials and claimed that the visit was aimed at sharing the details with the public.
