Hyderabad: BRS leader Anugula Rakesh Reddy on Tuesday condemned the arrest of job aspirants at Gandhi Bhavan, accusing the Congress government of treating them like anti-social elements. He said the same youth who campaigned for the Congress during the elections were now being silenced and branded as paid artists for demanding the implementation of the party’s promise to fill two lakh government jobs.
“The unemployed, who were once treated as Gods, have now become ghosts for the Congress,” he remarked.
He demanded that the government issue job notifications before the local body polls and withdraw cases against unemployed youth who fought against GO 46 and GO 29. He vowed that the BRS would extend full support to the unemployed youth in their fight.
Terming the job calendar released by the Congress a “jobless calendar,” Rakesh Reddy said Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka had introduced it in the Assembly during the previous session but avoided a debate despite repeated requests from BRS legislators. He stated that the Chief Minister and Ministers were presenting conflicting figures on jobs created during the Congress regime, exposing what he called their false claims.
