Karimnagar: In order to check illegal finance business, Karimnagar Commissionerate Police carried out raids on the houses of illegal financers. Simultaneous raids were carried out in 37 places in commissionerate limits on Wednesday. Besides seizing Rs 52.57 lakh in cash, signed promissory notes, blank cheques and other documents were seized. Ten illegal money lenders were also arrested by registering ten cases. While six cases were registered in Huzurabad division, four were registered in Karimnagar.
Disclosing details about illegal financers at a press conference here on Wednesday, Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana explained the modus operandi of moneylenders. Poor and middle class people were approaching private moneylenders for money. Taking their need as an advantage, illegal financiers were collecting huge interests 5 to 10 percent from the innocent people. In some incidents, moneylenders had also seized the properties deposited with financers towards security by the people.
In Karimnagar town, Malliala Anjaiah, owner of Malliala Anjaiah Steel/Metal Marchant, Konda Murali, near Bharath Talkies, Anasury Srinivasa Chary (c/o Bhavani Jewellers, Tower Circle area), Aitha Ravinder, near Venkata Sai Theatre and Bheemanathuni Sudhakar of Chaitanyapuri were arrested.
T Anandam, Gandhinagar of Huzurabad, former MPP Thogaru Sadanandam of Huzurabad, Chinthala Sadashiv of Madipalli of Jammikunta mandal, Lingaiah of Jammikunta town, Burra Narsaiah of Buzunur of Illandakunta mandal and Junnoju, Kakatiya colony of Huzurabad were also arrested.
