Hyderabad: Indian big corporates should look forward to adapting the new formulations of the ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) agenda, said chairman, ECube Investment Advisors, Dr Mukund Rajan, on Friday.
Speaking at an interactive webinar on the topic ‘Corporate India and New Focus on ESG’ organised by the ICFAI University, Dr Rajan explained the ESG in detail and how it impacts the growth of the corporates. Adaptation of ESG determines the growth of the organizations, he felt.
There were several challenges in the present world such as increase in air pollution, land degradation, depletion of groundwater, global warming, ozone depletion and loss of biodiversity etc. Similarly, the insolvency and bankruptcy cases have also increased during the pandemic crisis, Dr. Rajan said. Companies should also look forward to non-traditional collaborations and introduce incentives to push towards growth, he observed.
Answering a query, Dr. Rajan said good companies always look for opportunities in times of crisis and learn from them to move ahead.
The webinar was moderated by Prof R Prasad, Director – Academic Wing, ICFAI Group and Prof. Sudhakar Rao, Director – Branding, ICFAI Group. About 250 participants including entrepreneurs, research scholars and working professionals took part in the event.
