Countdown to Revanth Reddy’s downfall begins from Jubilee Hills, says KTR
BRS working president KT Rama Rao launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Congress party during a roadshow in Jubilee Hills, claiming the bypoll would mark the beginning of Congress's downfall in Telangana. He highlighted BRS’s achievements, criticised Congress’s unfulfilled promises and alleged misuse of funds.
Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao declared that the Jubilee Hills bypoll would mark the beginning of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy‘s political downfall in Telangana. He asserted that a BRS victory would set in motion the return of K Chandrashekhar Rao as Chief Minister within 500 days.
Addressing a massive roadshow in Yousufguda, along with BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha and her family, minutes before the campaign concluded on Sunday, Rama Rao urged voters to treat the contest as a verdict on the two years of the Congress rule. He said the Chief Minister’s hectic campaign exposed the Congress’s fear of defeat.
“If Jubilee Hills delivers a shock, we will know whether Revanth will last three years or just three months,” he remarked.
Stating that Revanth Reddy was afraid of losing his post, with internal rifts within the Congress and political maneuvering in Delhi hinting at a leadership crisis, he urged voters to place their hands on their hearts before casting their votes.
Listing the BRS government’s achievements, the former Minister cited Mission Bhagiratha’s drinking water supply, Mission Kakatiya’s pond rejuvenation, the establishment of TIMS super-speciality hospitals, 42 flyovers, new link roads, lakhs of IT jobs and one lakh double-bedroom houses.
“We gave free water, improved healthcare, ensured women’s safety through 10 lakh CCTV cameras and SHE Teams, and made Hyderabad a model city,” he said.
Rama Rao said the Congress was reneging on its six guarantees and resorting to temporary freebies to mislead the public ahead of polling. He demanded that the Congress leaders explain about unfulfilled promises of one tola gold, scooties and monthly allowances to women.
“Rumour is that Revanth Reddy sent funds to distribute Rs.6,000 per vote. But the Congress leaders who are habituated to commissions and corruption, are pocketing their commission even in this,” he ridiculed.
Criticising the HYDRAA demolition drive, he said the government was targeting poor families on weekends while shielding influential encroachers. Displaying visuals on LED screens, he challenged Revanth Reddy to demolish the illegal constructions of his own Ministers if he truly believed in equal law. “Only your vote for the BRS can stop the bulldozers from reaching poor people’s homes,” he said.
The BRS working president listed the failures of the Congress government including delayed fee reimbursement, pending pensions, dues to retired employees and harassment of film industry workers. He said it had pushed the State’s economy, real estate, and small trade sectors into decline. “Revanth Reddy talks of developing Jubilee Hills when his own MLAs have complained they have not received funds for their constituencies in the last two years,” he pointed out.
Condemning Revanth Reddy’s remark that “if there is no Congress, there are no Muslims,” Rama Rao called it an attempt to polarise voters. He urged the Muslim community to reflect on whether the BRS or the Congress had truly stood by them and empowered them.
“Our Asad bhai (Asaduddin Owaisi) is now campaigning for the Congress, despite the latter belittling him in the ongoing Bihar Assembly elections and calling him the BJP’s B-team,” he quipped.
He said the Jubilee Hills bypoll would decide Telangana’s political direction. Warning of alleged attempts by the ruling Congress for bogus voting and threats to welfare schemes, he appealed to voters to defeat the Congress decisively. He urged the voters of Jubilee Hills constituency to thwart Revanth Reddy’s conspiracies against the BRS candidate as well as threats to stop welfare schemes, by giving her the highest majority.
