Hyderabad: Criticism is mounting from different sections over the programmes, especially music concerts organized as part of the Congress government’s Vijayotsavalu across the State, with many feeling that real Telangana culture was being ignored, and in fact, insulted.
At many places, people have raised objections over the dances and songs sung by artists on stage during the programmes. This was not confined to rural areas but happened in urban areas as well. Especially becauseall the programmes were organized officially by the State government.
Sharing a video on X wherein an artist is se:en singing a Tollywood movie song on stage, entrepreneur Nayini Anurag Reddy said “I write this with extreme pain and agony. It is still hard to digest that this program is officially organized by Telangana government, especially on a significant day like December 9 for the people of Telangana…”
“This could have been a golden oppourtunity to honour and celebrate the legacy of great personalities like Kaloji Narayana Rao, Dasarathi Krishnamachayulu, Suravaram Pratap Reddy garu and many others, who symbolize the spirit of Telangana. It is up to the people of Telangana to reflect on what is happening and question the direction we are heading. Nothing more to say…”
Echoing similar opinion, CKRAVI, an X user said: “Not just that all this nonsensical spending is being done with tax payers’ money. We are also being asked to say “Jai Balayya” at a TG government function?? Then they are calling this who charade as TG Thalli dinotsavam? Do people don’t see the irony here! Chi Chii..”
Former TSREDCO chairman Y Satish Reddy also found fault with the State government for the “cultural” programmes organized as part of the Vijayostavalu. Upon arriving on the stage, the anchor asks an actress to share details of her next film project.
Sharing a video of Tollywood actress Anjali and playback singer Rahul Sipligunj on X he asked: “Are these Telangana cultural Vijayotsavalu? In Telangana government’s official programme, how are film projects be discussed? Do Telangana people accept these projects and are these projects and messages you want to convey Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy?”
