CSIR-IICT, Re Sustainability sign MoU to develop sustainable environmental technologies

CSIR-IICT and Re Sustainability have signed an MoU to collaborate on sustainable environmental technologies. Their partnership will focus on plastic recycling, waste-to-value solutions, resource recovery and circular economy technologies, with the aim of accelerating research, scale-up and commercialisation.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad-based Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT) and Re Sustainability Limited (ReSL), a company involved in providing integrated environmental and sustainability solutions, have signed a strategic Umbrella Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on advanced research, technology development, scale-up, and commercialization of sustainable environmental solutions.

The partnership aims to accelerate the development and deployment of innovative technologies that address critical environmental challenges while strengthening India’s transition towards a resource-efficient, low-carbon, and circular economy, IICT press release on Monday said.


The IICT and Re Sustainability will jointly pursue research, technology development, pilot-scale validation, and commercialisation across several strategic areas, including chemical and advanced recycling of plastic waste, waste-to-value technologies, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr D Srinivas Reddy, Director, IICT said: “The partnership will enable us to accelerate the development, validation, and commercialization of innovative technologies in waste management, resource recovery, and circular economy, contributing meaningfully to India’s sustainability ambitions”.

Masood Mallick, Managing Director and Group CEO, Re Sustainability, said, “The collaboration will create a platform to develop and commercialise transformative technologies that will shape the future of waste management, resource recovery, and climate action”.
