Hyderabad: The Cyber Crime Police have registered a case against a few individuals identified as Rakesh, Tirupathi (TRTV), Bhethi Mahender Reddy and others following a complaint by Harshith Kaveti, who alleged that they circulated false and defamatory content on social media and digital platforms, wrongly linking him to a criminal allegation.

Harshith Kaveti, a resident of Banjara Hills and a UPSC aspirant, alleged that on July 12 he came across videos and social media posts claiming that a person named “Harshith”, described as the nephew of a Union Minister, had impregnated a woman belonging to the Scheduled Caste community who had worked for him at an office in Manikonda. In his complaint, Harshith stated that since he is related to Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar and shares the same name, his photographs were circulated online, causing people to believe that he was the person referred to in the videos.

He maintained that he has no office in Manikonda and has no connection whatsoever with the allegations. He alleged that the false campaign had damaged his reputation, subjected him and his family to harassment, and adversely affected his preparation for the UPSC examination.

He further alleged that several people informed him that Bhethi Mahender Reddy and Tirupathi had been making inquiries about him. He also claimed to possess an audio recording purportedly containing a conversation between the two discussing plans to falsely implicate him and evade legal consequences. He urged the police to identify all those involved in the alleged conspiracy, remove the defamatory content from social media platforms, and initiate criminal proceedings against them.
