Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner, M Ramesh, on Saturday conducted a field inspection of waterlogging-prone locations to review measures aimed at preventing traffic disruption and citizen inconvenience during heavy rains.
The inspection was carried out at the Election Building junction and the Pista House surroundings, along with Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sunpreet Singh, zonal commissioners of Serilingampally and Kukatpally, traffic police officers, engineers, and officials from other departments.
The team assessed the reasons behind recurring water stagnation in the areas during heavy rainfall. They discussed both immediate and long-term measures, including improving stormwater drainage capacity, removing bottlenecks, widening culverts and drains, clearing silt and debris, and laying additional drainage lines wherever required.
During the visit, the Commissioner instructed officials to ensure uninterrupted traffic movement throughout the rainy season by implementing preventive measures in advance. Emergency response teams, motor pumps, machinery, and personnel were asked to be ready at vulnerable locations to respond swiftly.
