Cyient Foundation MoU with Universities for skill development of students
The Cyient Foundation has launched a Rs 7.50 crore initiative partnering with five Telangana state universities and government commissionerates. It aims to build an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem across 152 degree colleges and 59 polytechnics over three years
Hyderabad: Cyient Foundation, the CSR wing of Cyient Ltd., on Monday announced a multi-stakeholder initiative in partnership with leading State Universities and key Government institutions in Telangana to build a robust and scalable ecosystem for innovation, entrepreneurship, employability, and future-ready skills development.
The initiative was formalized through a series of MoUs with Osmania University, Kakatiya University, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH), Palamuru University, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, along with the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education (CCE) and the Commissionerate of Technical Education (CTE), Government of Telangana, a statement said.
The Cyient Foundation proposes to invest close to Rs 7.50 crore over a three-year period across participating institutions. The initiative will scale across approximately 152 Government Degree Colleges and 59 Government Polytechnics, extending access to industry exposure, skilling, and entrepreneurship opportunities across urban and rural regions.
“By empowering students, faculty, and communities across Telangana, we are not just creating skilled professionals, we are enabling future innovators, job creators, and nation-builders,” Dr. B. V. R. Mohan Reddy, Founder Chairman, Cyient said.
A key focus area is future skills aligned to emerging industry needs, including Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI, data analytics, robotics and automation, IoT, drone technology, GIS and geospatial technologies etc.
Under the Rural Skill Development Initiative, three centers at Palamuru University and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University will be established in Narayanpet, Mahabubnagar, and Warangal and train 600 youth annually.
The Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) will reach over 4,000 students annually, with around 400 undergoing structured training, leading to over 200 business ideas and over 40 startup teams each year. The initiative will also support 20–25 startups annually through incubation and mentorship, with 5–10 progressing toward commercialization. It will also build institutional capacity by training over 200 faculty members and engaging over 50 industry experts as mentors.
