Dairy farmer, buffalo killed in lightning strikes in Khammam
Two separate lightning strike incidents in Khammam district on Wednesday led to the death of a dairy farmer and a buffalo. A farmer was fatally struck while grazing cattle in Sathupally mandal. In another incident in Chunchupally mandal, a buffalo was killed, and several homes reported damage to electronic appliances.
Khammam: A young dairy farmer and a buffalo were killed in separate lightning strike incidents in Khammam district on Wednesday.
At Satyanarayanapuram in Sathupally mandal, Guguloth Chinna Mahesh (35) died when lightning struck while he was grazing buffaloes and talking on the phone in the rain. He collapsed on the spot and was shifted to the Sathupally Government Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
In another incident at Ramapuram in Chunchupally mandal of Kothagudem, a buffalo owned by dairy farmer Katta Sathish was killed after being struck by lightning. Several houses in the village also reported damage to electronic appliances due to the lightning strike.
