Hyderabad: Have you ever witnessed an event with the perfect mix of fun, entertainment and education? Well, the students of Delhi Public School, Nacharam, recently did. On Dec 22, the students under the guidance of the mathematics faculty of the school held a grand assembly with various programmes on the ‘National Mathematics Day’ to commemorate the contributions made by Srinivasa Ramanujan in the field of mathematics on his birth anniversary.
It is fascinating that Ramanujan didn’t receive any formal education and yet was called the man who knew infinity. The assembly was gracefully named ‘Vaijnynanik Ganith’with the idea of connecting modern technology in mathematical concepts.
The program started with a fruitful prayer song and the lighting of the lamp, which rightly showcased the magic of God and light on the internet. It was then resumed with portraying the connection between melodies of the voice and rhythms of the feet to mathematics.
The assembly included the usage of Math online tools like Geogebra, Desmos, Math pad, Assessment tools, etc. The gathering overall included entertaining and educational content.
The assembly ended on a positive note with graceful and encouraging words by our vice principal Gowri Venkatesh, who has created an understanding with the idea of how easy learning maths is and the use of online tools to sharpen our skills. The programme engrossed students to delve into the world of mathematics and inclined us to explore maths more often.
