We don’t feed the birds because they need us, we feed the birds because we need them. As bird feeders are a great way for kids to nurture nature and see different types of birds, the pre-primary wing of DPS Nacharam conducted a bird feeder activity. Through this activity, we also raised awareness of “World Sparrow Day” which is celebrated on March 20 to conserve the declining population of sparrows.
As a part of the activity, children were encouraged to make a bird feeder and hang it on their balconies to attract more birds. Facilitators also explained how birds help to shape the plant life we see around us. It was a fun-filled activity that helped the students understand and inculcate the significance of birds in nature.
