Delhi Public School: Conserving environment a responsibility
A special virtual assembly was hosted by the students of prep to create awareness about the green friends of humans.

Students of the pre-primary section of Delhi Public School Nacharam celebrated Van Mahotsav for a better and greener tomorrow. Van Mahotsav or the festival of trees was initiated in 1950 to celebrate the importance of saving forests and the environment.
It is observed in the first week of July every year. A special virtual assembly was hosted by the students of prep to create awareness about the green friends of humans. The assembly commenced with the lighting of the lamp and beautiful welcome dance with a message to save trees.
Headmistress Shukla Dasgupta welcomed the audience and introduced the chief guest. The occasion was graced with words of encouragement and appreciation by the chief guest Satya Aruna, executive officer with the CII- Godrej GBC on various initiatives of landscape and biodiversity.
The tiny tots were all dressed up in green with beautiful headgears talking about friends of plants, the importance of plants and the initiative driven by the school to save the environment. During the week the children were also encouraged to sow a seed and nurture the tiny sapling. The celebrations helped to instill personal and social responsibility in our students towards safeguarding the environment.
