Delhi Public School: Environment safeguard is duty of all
A presentation on green school initiatives was appreciated by students and teachers alike.

Delhi Public School, Nacharam organised a special assembly on Vanmahotsav to mark World Environment Day. The theme of the virtual assembly attended by over 800 students was Forests and Biodiversity. Dr. Shilpi Sharma, a noted scientist from Telangana State Biodiversity Board, was the guest speaker.
Addressing the event, Principal Sunitha Rao shared insights towards the conservation of the environment. She said that conservation of environment is everyone’s responsibility. She also unveiled a logo depicting biodiversity. A special pledge was administered to the entire school to attain a healthier environment. A presentation on green school initiatives was appreciated by students and teachers alike.
A survey, under the guidance of Vice-Principal Surekha, was conducted on the eve of World Environment Day to sensitize and acquaint people with the environment. The result of the same was announced in the assembly by Shakuntala and Asha, science faculty members.
Guest speaker Dr. Shilpi Sharma spoke about the steps needed towards biodiversity conservation. This was followed by a spectacular display of talent by the students of classes IX and X. The school head girl – Shresta and the Literary Ambassador- Sujay delivered their speeches on green DPS and sustainability of the environment. They also welcomed the class 11 students into the school, promising to guide and nurture them.
