Hyderabad: BRS deputy floor leader T Harish Rao said his visit to Delhi on Monday was aimed at consulting senior legal counsel on multiple cases, including the Kaleshwaram project, defection of MLAs, and the 2015 Cash-for-Vote case. He maintained that the Delhi visit was transparent and issue-based, while the rest was just political propaganda.
Speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday, Harish Rao said the High Court is expected to deliver its verdict on his petition challenging the Justice PC Ghose Commission on Kaleshwaram on Wednesday.
“Based on the verdict, we discussed the possibility of an appeal in the Supreme Court,” he said.
Discussions were also held on the disqualification cases of MLAs, which are scheduled for hearing on May 6.
Referring to the Cash-for-Vote case, in which Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is an accused, Harish Rao said the matter is listed before the Supreme Court on Wednesday. He reminded that the BRS also impleaded itself in the case. He alleged a conflict of interest, noting that Revanth Reddy continues in office while facing trial.
“While Revanth Reddy engaged senior advocates for his defence, the State government is being represented by a relatively unknown counsel,” he said, accusing the Chief Minister of attempting to misuse his position. He said senior advocates will fight the case on behalf of the BRS.
