Sangareddy: Several senior Congress leaders skipped the political affairs committee meeting of Sangareddy district held here on Tuesday, which exposed the lack of unity within the party leaders. It appeared that the meeting was organised in haste without proper communication to several Congress leaders.
Most of these leaders received information just a few hours before the meeting organised at a hotel in Sangareddy. TPCC Working President T Jagga Reddy, Narayankhed MLA Patlolla Sanjeeva Reddy, TPCC Vice-president Gali Anil Kumar, former minister Agam Chandrashekhar, SETWIN Chairman N Giridhar Reddy, senior leader Ujwal Reddy skipped the meeting.
The absence of district in-charge minister G Vivekananda also raised several eyebrows as several key mandal level leaders also refrained from attending the meeting. The meeting was organised to prepare the key leaders for MPTC and ZPTC elections. However, several Congress leaders, who attended the meeting, observed that the gathering served little purpose towards the cause.
They further opined that it had exposed the lack of organisational ability of the party machinery and also differences within the leadership. Adding credence to this, Health Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha said that the party leaders must resolve the differences with them. He said that the factions within the party will cost the party dearly in the elections.
The Minister called upon party workers not to underestimate the capabilities of the opposition parties. There was talk among the party circles that Damodara Rajanarasimha will field his only daughter Trisha in ZPTC elections. She will be in contention for the post of ZP Chairperson of Sangareddy district. Zaheerabad MP Suresh Shetkar, TGIIC Chairperson T Nirmala, Kata Srinivas Goud, Neelam Madhu, and Congress municipal chairpersons were present.
