Adilabad: People who were likely to lose their homes around Khanapur irrigation tank, submitted a representation to local BJP MLA Payal Shankar seeking his intervention here on Saturday.
A handful of residents belonging to the Khanapur area met Payal Shankar and expressed their fear that their houses would be demolished by officials of the municipality.
They stated that they had been living in the locality for over 30 years. They claimed that they built houses by obtaining permissions from the civic body.
On Friday, the officials of the municipality and revenue department withdrew their move to identify boundaries and full tank level of Khanapur irrigation tank when locals raised objection to the activity.
The locals expressed anger against the officials for trying to carry out a survey to identify the boundaries and FTL of the tank.
