Unseasonal rains accompanied by gusty winds damaged maize and jowar produce across Adilabad district, leaving farmers distressed. Crops transported to local markets and stored on farm platforms were drenched, while 15,000 quintals of jowar remained unprocured at Jainath market yard.
Former minister Jogu Ramanna announced that both the Centre and State governments have withdrawn the fingerprint requirement for farmers during cotton procurement, following sustained protests by the BRS. The party celebrated the move with rituals honouring KT Rama Rao and Harish Rao.
