Hyderabad: Even as a large number of MNCs are increasingly adopting AI into their operations, raising questions about future job prospects in the software industry, engineering colleges in the State continue to bet on computer science and engineering (CSE) programmes. As for the core engineering branches, 15,579 seats are up for grabs in the electronics and electrical engineering branches, while civil, mechanical and allied branches have 6,871 seats. Programmes such as chemical engineering, geo-informatics, agricultural engineering, and food technology among others offer 916 seats.

Overall, 1,14,007 seats are available in 175 engineering colleges. Of the total, 81,620 seats will be filled via the TG EAPCET 2026 web counselling and remaining seats will be filled by the respective colleges under the management quota. This year, 22 university colleges, including Osmania University and JNTU-Hyderabad, are offering 6,046 seats.

As many as 84,002 candidates registered for web-based counselling. However, 36,393 students attended the certificate verification process till the last count on Wednesday. The deadline to participate in verification of certificates is June 29. The web options will be open from June 25 to July 1.

For the convenience of students, mock seat allocation will be released on or before July 4. Students, if required, can modify their web options. The provisional seat allotment will be released on or before July 10, while payment of tuition fee and self-reporting online has to be completed between July 10 and 14.
