Kothagudem: Sri Rama Navami and Lord Rama Maha Pattabhishekam celebrations at Sri Seeta Ramachandraswamy Temple, Bhadrachalam in the district would be open to the public this time. With the easing of Covid-19 situation, the government decided to allow devotees to take part in the celebrations following the submission of the celebration schedule by the temple’s Vaidika Committee. The tickets for the event would be sold online.
It might be noted that the celestial wedding of Lord Rama on Sri Rama Navami and Maha Pattabhishekam were celebrated without devotees due to the pandemic last year. District Collector MV Reddy chaired a coordination meeting here on Monday with the officials of different departments and reviewed the arrangements to be made for Sri Rama Navami and Maha Pattabhishekam to be celebrated on April 21 and 22 respectively.

He directed the officials to make elaborate arrangements for the convenience of the devotees and told officials to set up 40 counters for the distribution of ‘talambralu’ and 15 counters for distributing ‘prasadam’ to devotees. Reddy told the officials to install LED screens in sufficient numbers on the occasion of Kalyana Mahotsavam on the temple premises and at main junctions in the town, allowing the public to watch the ceremony conveniently.
Road repair works, planting of flower plants, setting up of benches on the streets and decoration of the temple town with colourful lighting have to be taken up. To offer medical care to devotees, 12 emergency health centres, four ambulances and 10 beds at Area Hospital have to be readied. Temporary toilets have to be constructed at main centres along with changing rooms and the Electricity Department is yet to make arrangements for uninterrupted power supply. Enough area for parking has to be earmarked, the Collector said. Additional Collector Anudeep D, ITDA PO P Gowtham and others were present.
