Apart from facilitating transparent and faster completion of registrations, mutations and others, the initiative was helping in eradication of irregularities, the Collector said
Mahabubnagar: Mahabubnagar Collector S Venkat Rao said Dharani was a grand success in the district and close to 10,000 transactions were made since the introduction of the portal.
Since the launch of Dharani there has been a remarkable change in the service being extended by the revenue department. Apart from facilitating transparent and faster completion of registrations, mutations and others, the initiative was helping in eradication of irregularities, he said.
The Collector inspected Dharani services at Urban Tahsildar office here on Monday. Explaining that there was no scope for committing any irregularities in Dharani system, he said two criminal cases were booked against two different persons for indulging in malpractices.
In a case at Moosapet, one person entered into an agreement to sell land to other person and even took advance. But the accused attempted to sell the same land to another person. The entire episode came to light, when the first buyer approached the Tahsildar complaining about the irregularity and a case was booked on the seller immediately, he explained.
In another case at Jedcherla, one elderly woman executed gift deeds favouring her four daughters. The same lady again executed a sale deed in favour of her grandson last month. The issue has been referred to police to initiate criminal proceedings, he said.
“People, especially farmers are happy with the introduction of Dharani. If there are any issues, people can approach us,” said Venkat Rao, according to a press release.
