Hyderabad: The simmering differences among State Congress leaders peaked on Tuesday with Sangareddy MLA T Jagga Reddy, who was stripped of the posts he held, hit back saying his fight was with TPCC president A Revanth Reddy and not with the party.
“My personal image is being tarnished deliberately in social media. I want to continue in Congress,” Jagga Reddy told media persons here.
Recalling his meeting with TPCC president A Revanth Reddy recently at the CLP office in the Assembly premises, he said the former stooped down to abysmal levels in claiming that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was facing serious health issues. “Revanth Reddy further said we all (Congress leaders) should be prepared to meet Governor Tamilisai Sounderarajan besides being ready to face any situation,” he said, adding: “Recently, the TPCC president visited Medak but I was not informed about his programme despite being the local MLA.”
“If a senior leader in the party is treated this way, one can imagine the plight of other party workers. I will expose Revanth Reddy’s true colours in the coming days,” Jagga Reddy said.
Meanwhile, Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy asserted that he would continue in the Congress. The MP had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other union Ministers recently in New Delhi triggering speculations.
“I met the Prime Minister regarding development works in my constituency but some people are spreading false propaganda,” said Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, speaking to the media.
On his brother and Munugodu MLA Rajgopal Reddy’s reported comments about his joining any party to fight against the ruling TRS, the Bhongir MP said he was in no way connected with those comments. “It is his personal opinion,” he added.
Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy alleged that the State government was conspiring to allot Singareni Collieries owned Naini coal blocks in Odisha to a private company in violation of rules. An attempt was being made to loot the SCCL and a CBI investigation should be ordered into the entire episode, he said addressing media in New Delhi.
