Sangareddy: As the bodies of employees who perished in the explosion and subsequent fire at Sigachi Chloro Chemicals Private Limited on Monday were completely charred, officials are facing immense difficulty in identifying the deceased.
So far, only four out of the 37 recovered bodies have been identified. A large number of family members of the victims have gathered at the government hospital in Patancheru, hoping to identify their loved ones.
Doctors have been accompanying relatives to view the bodies in an effort to assist with identification. However, the process has largely been futile due to the extent of the burns.
In response, officials have begun preparations to conduct DNA tests to establish the identities of the victims. A team from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), Hyderabad, has been deputed to collect samples to assist the district administration in the identification process.
