Drunk teacher suspended for attending school in Asifabad
A government teacher in Sukutupalli village, Jainoor mandal of Asifabad, was suspended on Thursday for attending school in an inebriated state. Tribal welfare officials said action followed a village complaint and warned of strict measures against negligent teachers through surprise inspections.

Adilabad: A government teacher was suspended on charges of attending the school while being drunk at Sukutupalli village in Jainoor mandal on Thursday.
Officials of the tribal welfare department said that the teacher, J Vilas, was suspended for being drunk in the school.
An inquiry was ordered following a complaint lodged against the teacher by villagers. Based on findings of the inquiry, action was taken against the teacher.
Officials further said that stern action would be initiated against those teachers who show negligence in rendering duties and absent without prior permission. Surprise inspections would be conducted in the schools to ensure discipline and time management, the officials warned.
