Hyderabad: In a major operation, the EAGLE Force, with the assistance of Goa Police, on Sunday apprehended Custodio Fernandes alias Kristy, who is suspected of supplying narcotic substances to a network operating between Goa and Hyderabad.
Sandeep Shandilya, Director of the EAGLE Force, said the arrest followed sustained surveillance, intelligence gathering and coordinated efforts by the Telangana EAGLE Force, Hyderabad Enforcement Wing (H-New) and Hyderabad City Police, particularly Panjagutta Police.
He said that on May 9, Panjagutta Police caught R. Keshav Raj Singh while he was allegedly attempting to sell drugs procured from Goa to three persons. Police seized 13 grams of MDMA and seven grams of charas from his car’s dashboard and registered a case under the NDPS Act.
Keshav Raj Singh allegedly disclosed that he had purchased MDMA and charas worth Rs. 40,000 from Kristy in Goa, intending to sell the consignment for around Rs. 80,000.
Financial analysis reportedly revealed credits totalling approximately Rs. 48.4 lakh in the accounts examined during the investigation. Kristy’s associates allegedly travelled to Hyderabad, delivered drugs to customers, collected cash and deposited the money into accounts linked to him.
“More than 25 Telangana residents’ names reportedly emerged during scrutiny of financial records and mobile phone data. Their identities, transactions and possible links to the alleged network are being verified,” Sandeep Shandilya said.
The suspected role of a Nigerian national identified as Nigi, who allegedly operates from Goa and coordinates deliveries through Indian associates, is also under investigation.
