Education brings change in society, says MLC Kavitha
Participating in the swearing-in ceremony of Jagitial district library committee chairman Kavitha assured all help to strengthen libraries in the district
Jagitial: MLC K Kavitha on Tuesday said change in society was possible only with education. “Education helped Mahatma Gandhi, Ambedkar, Jyothirao Phule to fight against injustice in society,” she said.
Participating in the swearing-in ceremony of district library committee chairman Dr Chandrashekhar Goud and felicitation of government body members here, Kavitha said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who gained enormous knowledge by reading scores of books, played a vital role in achieving separate Telangana State.
Assuring all help to strengthen libraries in the district, she promised to make libraries accessible to the youths preparing for various competitive exams. Presently, there were libraries in 15 mandals and another three mandals would get libraries soon.
Emphasising the need to establish an e-library, Kavitha promised to develop Jagitial library as a role model in the State. The foundation stone for the construction of the new library building would be laid soon under the leadership of the newly appointed chairman, she informed. The State government has been asked to establish BC and SC study circles in the districts, she said, and hoped to get the nod from the government soon.
Stating that TRS had emerged as a strong force in the State, the MLC said it was the only party which was extending all help to BC communities.
Welfare Minister Koppula Eashwar, MLAs Dr Sanjay Kumar (Jagitial) and Sunke Ravishankar (Choppadand) and others participated in the programme.
