Elaborate arrangements in place for second-phase GP polls in Karimnagar
Elaborate arrangements have been made for the second phase of gram panchayat elections across the erstwhile Karimnagar district. Polling is scheduled from 7 am to 1 pm on Sunday, with staff and materials dispatched on Saturday evening.

Karimnagar: Elaborate arrangements have been made for the second phase of gram panchayat elections in the erstwhile Karimnagar district.
Polling will commence at 7 am on Sunday and continue till 1 pm. Polling staff reached their respective polling stations on Saturday evening after collecting election material from distribution centres.
Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the BNSS have been imposed, while adequate police force has been deployed to ensure peaceful conduct of the polls. Additional police personnel have been stationed at sensitive polling stations.
Webcasting arrangements have also been made at select polling stations to closely monitor the voting process.
In Karimnagar district, polling will be held for 111 gram panchayats and 849 wards in Chigurumamidi, Ganneruvaram, Thimmapur, Manakondur and Shankarapatnam mandals.
A total of 436 candidates are contesting for sarpanch posts, while 2,275 aspirants are in the fray for ward member positions. As many as 1,84,761 electors are expected to exercise their franchise. For this phase, 3,028 polling personnel have been deployed.
Elections will also be conducted for 70 gram panchayats and 504 wards in Anthergoan, Dharmaram, Julapalli and Palakurthi mandals of Peddapalli district.
While 283 aspirants are contesting for sarpanch posts, 1,277 candidates are competing for ward member positions. A total of 684 polling stations have been established to facilitate 1,13,908 voters.
Besides 787 presiding officers, 1,031 other polling officers have been engaged.
Polling will be held for 77 gram panchayats and 530 wards in Boinpalli, Ellanthakunta and Thangallapalli mandals of Rajanna-Sircilla district.
As many as 279 candidates are contesting for sarpanch posts, while 1,296 aspirants are in the fray for ward member positions. A total of 1,11,130 electors are eligible to vote. For this purpose, 910 presiding officers and 1,093 other polling officers have been deployed.
Polling will also be held in seven mandals of Jagtial district.
