Hyderabad: Fire broke out in a house at Qutbullapur, reportedly triggered by a short circuit in a battery operated scooter when it was kept on charging on Tuesday night.
According to the police, Sai Kumar Reddy, works as a marketing executive and since the last few days was using a battery-operated scooter provided on rent by a private company to travel for work. On Tuesday night, Sai Kumar took the vehicle to his house and late in the night, kept its battery on charging in a room and went to sleep. Around 3 am, smoke started emanating from the scooter and fire broke out.
“Before the family could put out the flames, the fire spread and house articles were burned,” the Jeedimetla police said.
The family members were joined in by local people who doused the flames.
