Hyderabad: Expressing confidence that BRS turncoat legislators would be disqualified, BRS whip and Qutbullapur MLA KP Vivekananda said elections were inevitable in 10 constituencies.
Vivekanand, who filed a disqualification petition against Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari, appeared before Speaker G Prasad Kumar for a hearing on Thursday. Speaking to media persons later, he said the 10 MLAs would be declared ineligible through the legal process.
“The Speaker has still not shared copies of his order in the disqualification petition with us. They are killing time and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is misleading and cheating the courts,” Vivekanand alleged, reiterating that the BRS would approach the courts after the Speaker takes a decision on the matter.
He said that, like Kadiyam Srihari, the fate of the other nine MLAs also remained uncertain.
Alleging that Srihari’s mental health was not good, Vivekanand said the Station Ghanpur MLA had defected to the Congress, secured a ticket for his daughter and campaigned for her in the elections.
He said BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao had given Srihari an opportunity to revive his political career and alleged that despite becoming Deputy Chief Minister, Srihari was now questioning Chandrashekhar Rao’s commitment.
“If Kadiyam Srihari still feels he is relevant in politics, he should quit and fight the elections,” Vivekanand challenged.
